Plans well underway for Longford's inaugural Camlin Keys Piano Festival

Plans are well underway for the inaugural Camlin Keys Piano Festival and organisers are delighted to announce details of the competition classes.

Entry into the classes will be online, through the  Camlin Keys Piano Festival website www.camlinkeys.ie, from Wednesday, May 10, the deadline for entry is Friday, June 9.

The competition classes will be held in St John’s National School where there will be pianos in two rooms.  There will be age categories for those under 20 years and Grade categories open to all ages.

Adjudicators will be considering many aspects of entrants playing, including clarity, accuracy and the style, mood and character of the piece.  All pianists are interpreting the music they play in their own way and no two performers or even performances will be exactly the same.

All budding pianists are encouraged to have a go and make the most of the opportunity to show-off how much work has gone into your pieces.  Everyone is welcome, there are classes for all levels and abilities.  Visit www.camlinkeys.ie for entry information.

Of course, it is not only musicians Camlin Keys wants to attract, but an audience too. A festival spokesperson said, “We would welcome support and input into the development of this project from local enterprises.  All of our classes, prizes and workshops are available to sponsor, visit the website for updates on sponsorship packages. For further information, please do not hesitate to contact us at camlinkeyspianofestival@gmail.com or call 085 265 4240.”
