Newtownforbes village
A cyclist has been taken to hospital this afternoon after being knocked down in Newtownforbes.
The incident happened shortly before 2pm on the main N4 entering the mid Longford village.
Gardaí and ambulance personnel attended the scene within seconds and tended to the cyclist for a number of minutes before being transferred to hospital.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí and emergency services attended at the scene of a collision involving a cyclist and a car in Newtownforbes, Co Longford shortly after 1:40pm on Thursday, 1st June 2023.
"The cyclist was taken to hospital, his injures are not life threatening."
