After suffering a surprise defeat in the midweek fixture against Clonguish in the congested league schedule, Killoe got back on track with a comfortable win over Dromard in the Division 1 clash at Emmet Park on Saturday evening.
Killoe Emmet Og . . . 0-19 Dromard . . . 0-9
Both sides were understrength and Dromard were particularly hard hit as they fielded without no less than eight players who started in the 2022 senior championship quarter-final against the same opposition.
Thus little emphasis will be placed on the outcome of the league game on Saturday. What did matter was that this result puts Killoe back on top of the Group 1 table and on course to reach the Division 1 title decider, not forgetting a place in the Leader Cup semi-finals.
Emmet Og held a slender 0-8 to 0-6 lead at the break with Mark Hughes firing over four of the points but they gradually pulled away in the second half with Michael Quinn shooting a total of five scores on the changeover.
