McCabes from across longford are being invited across the county border to the annual Clan McCabe Rally to be held, under the auspices of the Clan Mc Cabe Society, on Sunday, August 20, 2023 in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Ballyconnell, Cavan.
As part of National Heritage Week the Clan will host a guest presentation by Johann Farrelly who will speak about “Royalists, Rebels and Revolutionaries: a history of County Cavan’s Revolution 1912-1923”.
Many McCabe Clan members were active participants in this part of Irish history. The Rally will also hear about research into Mc Cabe history and heritage from members of the Society, including Honorary Research Officer Gary Mc Cabe.
There will also be an extensive display of documents and memorabilia relating to famous (and ordinary) Mc Cabes, during the day. All Mc Cabes, and anyone with an interest in the name, are cordially invited to attend.
Admission is free.
The event starts at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023 in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Ballyconnell, Cavan.
