Longford SFC: Killoe win again in proving much too strong for Carrickedmond

Unbeaten Killoe registered another win in Group 2 of the Senior Football Championship when they proved much too strong for Carrickedmond in the Round 3 clash at the Higginstown grounds in Granard on Sunday.

Killoe Emmet Og . . . 0-17   Carrickedmond . . . 0-7

Emmet Og were in cruise control in the first half in establishing a commanding 0-11 to 0-2 lead at the break but they suffered a significant blow when defender James Moran was stretchered off in the second half after sustaining what looked like a serious knee injury. 

In fine form for Killoe was the deadly accurate Mark Hughes who fired over the impressive total of nine points (4 frees) as bottom of the table Carrickedmond crashed to a third consecutive defeat.
