Lanesboro and Ballyleague mourns death of a wonderful lady who had a great passion for greyhound racing

The late Martina Ryan (Cribbin), Ballyclare Court, Ballyleague, Roscommon / Clonmel, Tipperary

The death occurred in the excellent care of Roscommon Hospice on Saturday, September 2 of Martina Ryan (Cribbin), Ballyclare Court, Ballyleague.

Martina had been ill for a time and she fought her illness with great fortitude and dignity.

As a person, she was a warm and friendly lady with an amazing warm smile that highlighted her wonderful personality.

Martina, along with her partner Joe Cribbin, came to Lanesboro where they ran what is known locally as Harrison Shop (Inver) in Ballyleague.

Martina, originally from Clonmel, Co Tipperary was an avid Waterford hurling supporter and especially of the club hurling team of Ballygunner.

She had a lifelong passion for greyhound racing and especially coursing and a lifelong ambition to win a national Coursing title.

Martina’s passing will sadden the hearts of everyone that had the pleasure to know her.

Martina reposed at Fennessy’s Funeral Home, Clonmel on Monday, September 4. Her Funeral Mass took place in St Molleran’s Church, Carrick-on-Suir on Tuesday, September 5 followed by burial in Churchtown cemetery.

We extend our deepest sympathy to her partner, Joe Cribbin, parents Tom and Marie, sister Claire and her husband James, brother Dermot and his wife Michelle, her adoring niece & nephew Niamh and Conor, aunts, uncles, relatives and a wide circle of friends.
