Charlie Bird and his wife Claire brewed up a storm today, (Sep21) leading Ireland’s biggest coffee morning in a €2million fundraising drive for Hospice services nationwide.

The couple, along with beloved dog Tiger, were at Wicklow Hospice just weeks after the former RTÉ broadcaster revealed he is receiving care at home in his ongoing battle with motor neurone disease. More than 2,500 people registered from homes, schools and businesses across Ireland to host a Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning Social for Hospice this year.

Charlie Bird urges people and business across Ireland to host or participate in these coffee mornings in order to reach their two million euro target ,“I never thought I would need Hospice care, but since they have come into our lives, I have realised the massively important nature of their work in helping people at end-of-life and those with life-limiting conditions,” let’s have one last push to help us reach this €2million target. There is still time for individuals and businesses to host an event or simply donate to their local Hospice.”

If you have not already registered to host a coffee morning, you can do so until September 30 at 0818 995 996. If you can not host or attend one, a donation can be made to your local Hospice at hospicecoffeemorning.ie/donate
