Longford native Darren Yorke brings fun-loving non-verbal show 'Fergal' to Backstage Theatre

Longford's Declan Yorke is bringing his 'fun-loving non-verbal show' to the Backstage Theatre this Friday and Saturday.

The show will take place on Friday at 10am and 12pm and on Saturday at 12pm and 3pm. The show at three o'clock on Saturday will be a special 'relaxed performance' for children with particular sensory needs. The play has been described as having a story that is ''imaginatively told ''.  It follows the story of the main character 'Fergal' who goes to the beach one day 'where he thinks he is alone at last. He has the time of his life painting and playing his banjo thinking he has the whole beach to himself, but things change for Fergal when others arrive.'  The play has been summarised as a ' beautiful, non-verbal show, featuring one actor & live shadow puppetry, that celebrates independence, being ourselves and the importance of enjoying your own company '.

Tickets for 'Fergal' can be booked by calling the Backstage Theatre Longford (04333 47888), schools can make group bookings by calling direct. Tickets will also be available on the theatre's website https://backstage.ie. The show is 50 minutes in duration and is suitable children aged three and up.
