The Late Margaret (Maggie) Donohoe (née Langtry), Derries, Loughduff, Cavan
The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General hospital on Tuesday, October 24 last of Margaret (Maggie) Donohoe, Derries, Loughduff.
Formerly Langtry, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter, a native of Urble, Carrigan whom she married in 1962 and who passed away in January 2015 which was a great blow to her and their family.
She will be sadly missed by her children Mary, Cathy (Kevin), twins Anne (Mark) and John (Natasha), twins Joe (Jane) and Pauric (Angie) and Edwin, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, sisters Theresa Courtney and Julia Langtry, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of relatives and friends.
Aged 87, Maggie was a hard worker and an industrious and friendly lady who was the heart of her family. With a welcome for all be it relations or neighbours, her home and hospitality was there to all.
She had a strong faith and a pleasant and caring personality and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother where her passing has left a great void in the family circle and in her closely knit neighbourhood.
Her remains reposed at Reilly’s Funeral home on Wednesday evening, October 25 where large numbers came to pay their respects to one of natures great ladies.
On Thursday Fr PJ, assisted by Fr Jim Brady celebrated her funeral mass in St Joseph’s church Loughduff where she used to attend weekly for mass, and burial took place to local cemetery beside her husband Pater.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
