It's often been noted that Livin’ Dred is a phenomenal drama company. They have created some of the most remarkable stage shows since they first turned the stage lights on for The Beauty Queen of Leenane in 2004.
Since then they have afforded audiences remarkable theatre experiences; from 2009s Observe the Sons of Ulster, Marching Towards the Somme to the 2022 production of Tarry Flynn.
Longford's proximity and affiliation has meant that all have been presented to local audiences. The most recent staging of Danti-Dan, which was directed by Livin’ Dred Artistic Director, Aaron Monaghan.
With film and TV credits in The Banshees of Inisherin, Redemption of a Rogue, Assassin’s Creed, The Foreigner, Love/Hate as well as the accolade of one of the country’s fines stage actors, Monaghan's credential are particularly impressive.
Aaron will be taking centre stage this Saturday as he assumes the role of SuperBogger.
Livin’ Dred Theatre present the World Premiere of SuperBogger by award-winning writer Clare Monnelly. This is a one-man whirlwind performance, allowing Monaghan the scope to show his mastery of his craft.
SuperBogger is the origin-story of Ireland’s first superhero, and a provocative deep dive into the fragmented mind of a modern, middle-aged parent.
It tells the story of Barry West who has the perfect life; a wonderful wife, happy kids, a beautiful home, in the small country town where nothing ever happens. If only he knew why he is so utterly miserable.
A chance encounter with a Radioactive Fox leaves him with strange new super-powers, which sets him on track to disturb the small-town peace and reignite some old small-town rivalries.
Uniting the creative team of the sell-out success Charlie’s A Clepto, Super-Bogger is a tour-de-force blockbuster that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats. Directed by Emily Foran.
Tickets for SuperBogger at Backstage Theatre Longford on Sunday, November 26 at 8pm are available on 0433347888 or backstage.ie
