Longford man charged in aftermath of Dublin riots

A Longford man appeared in court at the end of last week charged in connection with Thursday night's riots in Dublin.
Reeves Fox (24) with a given address of 15 Park Villas, Longford was one of 34 people arrested in Dublin following the eruption of violence in the aftermath of an attack on three children and a teacher outside a school in the city.

Mr Fox was one of 15 defendants to come before Dublin District Court on Friday on charges connected with the events of Thursday.

He was charged with possession of a knife under the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act and engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.

Mr Fox was granted bail and will return before Dublin District Court on January 12 on the condition that he stays out of Dublin 1 and 2, save for travelling to work.

The defendant was also directed to keep a curfew except for work and must “not partake in any violent protest or large gathering.”
