Elite Longford swimmer Darragh Greene, performing on the world stage
Elite Longford athlete Darragh Greene is preparing to compete in the World Swimming Championships in Doha, Qatar, starting with the heats of the 100m Breaststroke on Sunday morning, 6.30am Irish time.
Darragh is chasing the qualifying time for the Paris Olympics this summer and no matter what happens in the individual breaststroke events in Doha, he is currently on course for the 2024 Olympics as a member of Ireland’s 4x100m medley relay team.
The exceptional Irish quartet are currently 11th in the medley relay rankings with the top 16 countries competing in Paris.
The relay team will be going all out to consolidate their probable qualification for the Olympics with a major performance in the event at the conclusion of the 2024 World Swimming Championships in Doha on Sunday February 18th.
