Longford Teddy Bear’s Picnic in aid of Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice

Lisryan Tidy Village and District Development Committee are hosting the community’s very first Teddy Bears Picnic on Sunday, April 14 in Lisryan Community Park.

All the children need to do is come armed with their favourite teddy to join in on the fun.
There will be a hospitality tent for the parents/friends and all supporters on the day. Picnic goodies for the children and there will also be a raffle/donation buckets on site.
The community are coming together to help their little honorary committee member, Ms Isabella McEvoy who, at only 5 years of age is cutting her locks of hair so that she can give to a great and truly worthwhile cause, which thankfully she is not in need of, but our hearts and thoughts go out to any family who are currently going through the agony of caring for a sick child and requiring the facilities of Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice.

Izzy (as we like to call her), is following in the footsteps of her mom and grandmother, who both have previously cut their locks for this great cause.
Angela Mulligan explained, “It is such a marvellous deed for Izzy to undertake and as such, we as a committee/community are rolling in behind her to reward her selflessness. 12 cm of her lovely hair will be cut in Dublin on April 20 and donated to the ‘Lovely locks for Children’ charity which will then be used to produce wigs for those in need of them due to this cruel and debilitating disease, Cancer.
“We truly hope you will come out and support this exceptional little lady in her effort to fundraise for the Laura Lynn Children’s Hospice on the day. You can register your child/children on Eventbrite.”

There will be an entry fee of €5 per child at the gate on the day.
All proceeds are going directly to Izzy’s fundraising effort.
