Sanctuary Players Drama Group presents 'The Worst Day of My Life' in Tarmonbarry

Kate Cunningham takes on the role of Joanne in Sanctuary Players Drama Group 'The Worst Day of My Life'

This week Sanctuary Players Drama Group along with Cloonfour NS will host an evening of entertainment. The Sanctuary Players group will perform a play entitled, 'The Worst Day of My Life'.

The pupils in the senior room will also sing and perform a poem on both nights.

In The Worst Day of My Life it's almost afternoon visiting time at the hospital and Charlie Brown is readying himself. Why is he concerned about which dressing gown he is wearing? And why is he replacing not only his get well card, but also his box of tissues and his drink bottle with substitutes.

Charlie relaxes when his wife Joanne appears, but is horrified when another visitor shows up.

In stark contrast with the plain Joanne, Evelyn is expensively and fussily over-dressed.

Evelyn presumes that Joanne is “some kind of social worker” and introduces herself as Mrs Brown.

To avoid confusion, Joanne explains that she is Mrs Charlie Brown. When a shocked Evelyn states that she is also Mrs Charlie Brown, he’s got some explaining to do.

The play is directed by Declan Fallon, with Charlie Brown played by Padraig McGreevey, Melissa is Karen Murphy, Samantha is Daneka Galvin, Joanne is Kate Cunningham and Evelyn is Lorraine McGlynn.

It will be staged in St Barry's GAA Hall, Tarmonbarry on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 of April at 8pm. Doors open at 7:30. Amazing raffle on each night.
