Over €1m for two Longford projects

Longford's €1m just transition grant

Two Longford projects will receive grant awards amounting to over €1 million from the EU Just Transition Fund (JTF) programme.
€841,290 is being allocated to Longford County Council to assist with the delivery of Computer Science in all nine secondary schools in the county. 


While €200,860 has been announced for the development of a Circular Economy Centre of Excellence. 


Announcing the funding, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Eamon Ryan said, "It is imperative that communities and workers who are most affected by the shift to a carbon neutral future are provided with targeted supports to address the social and economic impact of the transition. This scheme will help communities across the Midlands to maximise the opportunities and benefits of the green economy.”
