The search is ongoing for Drumlish man Peter Oliver Bohan. Gardaí have appealed to the public for assistance in tracing the whereabouts of the 79-year-old who has been missing for over a week.
Peter was last seen shortly before 1pm on Sunday, May 12 at his home in Cloonellan, Drumlish, County Longford.
Extensive searches, led by gardaí, the Civil Defence and hundreds of volunteers, alongside the garda air support unit and sniffers, have been conducted around the Drumlish area since Peter went missing.
A Garda spokesperson said, “Gardaí and Peter Oliver’s family are concerned for his welfare.”
A week ago, Tuesday, May 14, gardaí released video footage of the last time Peter Oliver was seen leaving his home in Drumlish.
Civil Defence confirmed that land search teams are engaged in an active search today (Tuesday, 21 May). They are being supported by An Garda Síochána, the Civil Defence boat crew and Civil Defence K9 dog unit.
The footage released by gardaí shows Peter Oliver leaving his home on the day he went missing. The short clip has been circulated widely across social media in the hopes he might be found.
Peter Oliver Bohan is described as being approximately 5 foot 9 inches in height with a slim build. He has brown/grey hair and blue eyes. When last seen, Peter was wearing a blue knitted jumper, dark trousers and a dark baseball cap with a red peak.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have observed Peter walking in the vicinity of his home in Cloonellan and Drumlish on Sunday, May 12 to contact them.
