Margaret Gannon, formerly of Kilcommock, Kenagh, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of St Camillus Nursing Centre, Killucan on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 of Margaret Gannon formerly of  Kilcommock, Kenagh, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents Daniel and Annie and also by her sisters Nuala and Teresa. Margaret will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sisters Mary, Anne and Kitty, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, May 24 at 10.30am in St Camillus Nursing Centre Chapel, Killucan (N91 VF51). A private interment will take place afterwards.

Ellen (Ellie) Farrell (née Rowley) Carrabeg, Newtownforbes, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at the Regional Hospital Mullingar, surrounded by her loving family and friends on Sunday, May 19, 2024 of Ellen (Ellie) Farrell (nee Rowley) Carrabeg, Newtownforbes, Co Longford. Predeceased by her loving husband Michael, her son Liam (Buddy), her parents, brothers and sister. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters Maureen (Brady) and Geraldine (Halpin), her sons-in-law Berney and Jimmy, her grandchildren Damien, Aidan, Clara, Lisa, Brian, Conor and Liam, her 16 great-grandchildren, her sister Molly (Quinn), her sister-in-law Rita, her nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, close friends and neighbours. Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Battery Rd., Longford, on Wednesday evening, May 22 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal from her home on Thursday morning, May 23 to St Mary's Church, Newtownforbes, for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards at the local cemetery. House Private Please.

Sr Julia Costello, DMJ Los Angeles and late of Newtowncashel, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 of Sr Julia Costello, DMJ , Los Angeles and late of Cleraun, Newtowncashel, Co Longford. Predeceased by her parents James and Nellie, brother Jimmy, sister Bridget (Scally) and infant sisters May and Julia. Deeply regretted by her sister Celine Chapman (Kenagh), nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and by the congregation of the Daughters of Mary and Joseph. May she rest in peace.

Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Tuesday, May 28 in the Mary and Joseph retreat Centre Chapel, Los Angeles with interment afterwards.

Cecilia Breslin (née McLoughlin) Birmingham and formerly of Kiltycreevagh, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the exceptional care of St Joseph’s care home Coleshil, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 6, 2024 of Cecilia Breslin, (nee McLoughlin) Hall Green, Birmingham; and formerly of Kiltycreevagh, County Longford, Ireland. She will be sadly missed by her beloved daughters Cecilia and Margaret, sons Brendan and Arnold, daughters-in-law Maria and Anne, grandchildren, her brother Brendan and all of her extended family and friends.

The death occurred peacefully in the King George Hospital, London surrounded by his family after a long illness bravely borne of Peter Shanley, Dernasmallon, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim / Chingford, London. Predeceased by his parents James/Margaret and his sister Carmel. Sadly, missed by his brothers Thomas (Keshcarrigan), James (Cloone), sisters, Margaret (Ballybofey), Bernadette (Dromahair), Elizabeth (Ballyconnell), Geraldine (Ballybofey)Aunt, Mary Mc Nama (Aughavas), sisters in laws, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. The death occurred peacefully, peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the kind care of the staff of St James’s Hospital, on Monday, May 20, 2024 of Dettia O'Reilly, Harold’s Cross and late of Loch Gowna, Co Cavan. Beloved mam of Seán and Steph and much loved grandmother of Tom and Jim. Predeceased by her loving mother Margaret O’Reilly and sister Kathleen McGovern. Dettia will be forever loved and sadly missed by her loving children, grandchildren, daughter-in-law Sarah, brother John, sister-in-law Chrissy, nieces, nephews, extended family and her many friends in Dublin, Cavan and Oman. May Dettia rest in peace.

The death occurred peacefully, in her 102nd year, in the loving care of the staff at Innis Ree Lodge Nursing Home, Ballyleague, Lanesborough on Sunday, May 19, 2024 of Sr Margaret Killian McAuley House, Roscommon town and formerly of Clooneen, Athleague, Co Roscommon. Predeceased by her siblings; Mary, Michael and Eilish.

Margaret will be sadly missed by her loving sister Ella Gannon, nieces Margaret, Mary and Fionnuala, nephews John and John, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and her many relatives, friends, neighbours and by her Community, Sisters of Mercy, McAuley House and the Western Province. Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Tuesday evening, May 21 from 4.30pm until 6pm followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, May 22 at 11am. Burial afterwards in the Convent of Mercy Community Cemetery, Roscommon. The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long illness bravely borne on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 of Sean Maguire, Ruislip, Middlesex and formerly of Mullaghmore, Drumreilly, Co Leitrim. Sadly missed by his son, Richard (Roz) and daughter, Sinead (David) and his grandchildren, Darcey, Ethan and Cayden. Beloved son of the late Sue and Paddy, Mullaghmore and cherished brother of Hugh (Mary), Mick (Rose), Geri (David), Susan (John), Anna Rose (Eugene), Robert and Paul.
