It is with regret that we record the death of Sean Curran, Crossagalla, Old Cork Road, Limerick and formerly Longford Road, Arva, Co Cavan which occurred on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the Milford Care Centre, Castletroy, Co Limerick.
Sean was a member of a very popular Arva family where his father John was a Garage proprietor and his mother Mary was a Hairdresser.
Sean played football at all levels with Arva even returning at weekends from Limerick for many years after he moved there.
A tenacious half back he gave his all every time he went out onto the pitch so it was very fitting that the Arva Jersey he was so proud to wear was draped over his coffin at his Funeral Mass and on to the Cemetery.
Sean was an Engineer with Krups in Limerick and with Ferrero in Cork and was extremely capable at his work.
With his outgoing nature Sean made many friends in Limerick and was a popular figure in his community. Sean reposed in St Patrick’s Church, Donoghmore on Tuesday evening with Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning followed by burial in Mount St Lawrence (Ext) Cemetery, Limerick City.
He is survived by his wife Valerie, daughter Lisa, brother Anthony, Arva sisters Margaret in Galway, Mary Cooke, Moyne, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends to all of whom we extend sincere sympathy.
