A chef first but a baker at heart, Renata Kostyra “realised her dreams” and opened her own coffee shop Dessert Mania one year ago in the heart of Longford town.

To mark their one year anniversary Dessert Mania are set to give out free coffee on Sunday, June 2 as a thank you to their loyal customers.

Looking back on the past year and speaking on behalf of Renata, partner Chris said: “It has been amazing and we can’t complain. In general we are happy and never expected it to be received the way it would be. It is going so well. I have noticed a huge increase in sales due to popularity on social media and this has been a great help to us.”

Located at the county town’s Pig Market Lane, adjacent to Herterich’s Butchers, Dessert Mania is a delectable, vibrant and welcoming store.

Among its many flavoursome delights include the likes of Spanish churros, waffles, custard tarts, crepes and chimney cakes.
The latter, being a traditional Hungarian street food snack, is very much indicative of the type of cosmopolitan cuisine its owner, Renata Kostyra hangs her culinary hat on.

On what is high customer demand, Chris said: “For us the coffee is at a high level and anything we do is at the highest level. Anything people buy in the cafe is made in the cafe and people like to know it is fresh. People love our chimney cakes. Our customers are very loyal and are so important to us and why we want to give back to them.”

Looking at what the future holds, Chris explained: “We want to keep our customers happy, it is so important to us and we want to have those loyal customers coming back each time. We are grateful for how the business has turned out and we would like to have another successful year again.”

Call into Dessert Mania from 9am to 6pm five days a week, from 10am to 5pm on Sundays with the store being closed on Tuesdays.
