Motorist in Longford arrested for driving while on cocaine on two consecutive nights

Gardaí caught a number of drivers under the influence in Longford over the weekend.

The Roscommon Road Policing Unit were on duty at the Drumlish Festival and they stopped one vehicle with suspected no insurance and tax out in excess of 10 months.

After inspection, the driver failed the roadside oral fluid test for the second night in a row, testing positive for Cocaine.

The vehicle was seized and the driver was arrested, with court proceedings to follow.

A novice driver also failed a roadside breath test near the festival, testing over the legal limit.

The driver was arrested and processed at Longford Garda Station, with proceedings to follow.
