Constituents in Longford-Westmeath have called on their TDs to support investment in young people in the upcoming Budget 2025 in a signed postcard.
In an appeal to their local representatives, the 109 signatories called on Minister Peter Burke, Deputy Sorca Clarke, Deputy Joe Flaherty, and Deputy Robert Troy to ask them to "take a stand for young people in Longford-Westmeath and beyond."
The postcard reads:
"We are lucky to have a growing youth population. By 2025 there will be over 1 million under-25s in Ireland, but they need meaningful support.
Please take whatever action that you can to make sure young people are supported in Budget 2025 with an investment of an additional €15 million in youth work. Your representation could make all the difference."
156 postcards have been sent nationally with a total of 4,891 signatories calling for an additional €15 million investment in youth work for 2025 by the National Youth Council of Ireland.
