The Moyne Latin School Past Pupils Golf Day took place on Friday September 13 in County Longford Golf Club where they had a great outing.
The winner was Noel Mulligan, Glasson, Athlone and formerly Pound Street, Arva. 2nd P. J. Harte, Monaghan and formerly Cornakelly, Moyne, 3rd Tom Mc Keon, Granard and formerly Smear, Aughnacliffe 4th Sean Doyle, Gortermone who celebrates his 93rd Birthday on Wednesday, September 18.
There were numerous other prizewinners and the chairman thanked all the sponsors for their generosity in making that possible.
Non Golfers met up at the Latin School for a Tour of the School and the new Interpretive Centre.
The Golfers later arrived at the school for a meal which was served by the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva which was enjoyed by all.
Attendees spend the evening recalling old memories and different events in the life of the School over those years were discussed.
There were peals of laughter coming from different groups and it was evident that all present had enjoyed their time there many years ago.
It was said to be a totally different culture than what is the norm today but it gave a great education to its pupils.
