Award winning Longford restaurant planning to construct new extension

The Rustic Inn of Abbeyshrule has requested permission for the Longford County Council regarding the expansion of their premises

One of Longford's best known hospitality businesses has submitted an application to Longford County Council planners to extend their premises.


Goldline Tarvens Ltd have made the application for development works at The Rustic Inn, Main St, Drumanure, Abbeyshrule, Longford.


The Rustic Inn provides accommodation on the banks of the Royal Canal in the heart of south Longford.

The applicant is seeking permission to construct a first-storey extension (186.20 sq m) above the existing ground floor, bar, lounge and function room. The extension will consist of five accessible bedrooms and ensuites.


Permission is also sought for the installation of an elevator to facilitate the accessible bedrooms and all associated site works.
There is one submission on file, from Peter Rooney, who lists 10 points for consideration by planners.

The local authority received the planning application on September 30 and anticipated reaching a decision by November 24, 2024.
