Following the recent cold snap, whose effects and subsequent thaw will continue to be felt in the coming days. According to Uisce Éireann, additional disruptions may be felt to water supplies throughout the country, this is due to bursts and leaks as a result of thawing pipes.
Uisce Éireann's Water Operations Lead for Longford, David Gibbons, reminds people to continue being mindful of their water usage and reporting any leaks on the public network. He said, "As a thaw replaces the freezing conditions we have experienced, we expect to see an increase in leaks and bursts on the network. Water services crews remain on standby, ready to maintain and restore water supplies for customers in Longford."
