Super night as Edgeworthstown's Sara-Lee Greene is crowned 2025 Longford Rose winner

It was a super night in Longford Arms Hotel on Saturday as Edgeworthstown's lovely Sara-Lee Greene was crowned the 2025 Longford Rose winner.

Sara-Lee is the very first Rose of the 2025 International Rose of Tralee Festival and she was congratulated on her triumph by 2023 Longford Rose Grace Kemple and Rose of Tralee Keely O’Grady.

Despite the damage caused by Storm Éowyn which ripped through county Longford in the early hours of Friday morning, there was a fine, enthusiastic attendance at Saturday's hugely entertaining Rose Selection in the Longford Arms Hotel.

The newly crowned 2025 Longford Rose Sara-Lee Greene was interviewed on stage by Galway Bay FM’s Ollie Turner and she will become Longford’s seventh Rose to feature in the Rose of Tralee International Festival televised ‘live’ interviews.

Sara-Lee Greene is 24 years old and after four years of college in Galway she obtained her degree to become a Mental Health Nurse and she now works in Sligo University Hospital.

She enjoys her job and says it is a privilege to be able to work and care for those who need compassion and empathy. 

A sports enthusiast, she plays with the Mostrim ladies football team and the Longford Rugby Club ladies side. She also enjoys singing and playing the guitar.

Sara-Lee applied to take part in the Rose of Tralee as it is something she always enjoyed watching and never thought she would have an opportunity to take part in, but after some kind words of encouragement from friends and family she sent in the application.
