Declan Neville

Playing the principal role of Sir John Tremayne in ‘Me And My Girl’, Declan Neville makes a welcome return to St Mel's Musical Society after a break of 19 years. His last involvement with the group was the major part of Professor Henry Higgins in the 2006 production of ‘My Fair Lady.’

The versatile Declan has played other leading roles in ‘Oklahoma’, ‘The Boyfriend’ and ‘The Golden Years’ and he is really looking forward to gracing the musical stage again, such is his attraction to this year’s show with its engaging storyline and marvellous musical numbers.

No stranger to Longford’s theatre-going public, the vastly experienced amateur actor has played leading roles in many productions for Backstage Theatre Group including The Field, The Chastitute, Sharon’s Grave, A Whistle in the Dark, Blithe Spirit, Castle Rackrent and Unforgiven among other local drama appearances.

Featuring such favourite musical numbers as ‘Leaning on a Lamp Post’, ‘The Lambeth Walk’, ‘The Sun Has Got His Hat On’ and the theme song ‘Me And My Girl’, along with other classic tunes, this is a show not to be missed and early booking is advised for a seat in the fully tiered venue in St Mel’s College Sports Hall.

A lot of hard work is going on ‘behind the scenes’to create another major triumph for St Mel’s Musical Society and there is a big demand for the tickets which went on sale last Thursday Booking: gr8events.ie
