Funding support announced for three Longford shows

Longford has a total of €24,255 has been earmarked for the agricultural events

Funding of over €24,000 has been set aside for Longford's three countywide shows

Three Longford agricultural shows will benefit from a funding allocation made by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.


On Monday it was announced that the government would make an investment of over €1 million to support 123 Agricultural Shows right across the country.


In Longford a total of €24,255 has been earmarked for the agricultural events. Ballinalee Connemara Pony Show will receive €6,700 for their gathering on Sunday, June 8, 2025, while Granard Agricultural Show Society, which runs from Saturday July 19 to Sunday, July 20 is in line for €8,350.


The largest allocation goes to the Longford Agricultural Show, who will receive €9,205 for the show on Sunday, July 6, 2025.
The county that hit the jackpot under the programme was Galway, their total haul came to €139,720.
