John Dolan, Ballinalee, Longford / Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 of John Dolan, Ballinalee, Co Longford and formerly of Mohill, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by parents Frank and Margaret Dolan, brothers Patrick and James. John will be deeply missed by his wife Bridie and their children; Francis, Brian, Claire, John and Barbara, their spouses and partners; Zee, Mairéad and Mark. His grandchildren; Aishling, Cathal, Donnacha, Michael, Emma and Isabelle. Sadly missed by his sister Alacoque, neighbours and close friends. 

May he rest in peace. Reposing at his home, Gurteen, Ballinalee, Co Longford, N39 YR84 on Friday, June 20 4-8pm. Funeral mass June 21 Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee, 12 noon with burial afterwards in St Emer's Cemetery, Ballinalee. Family flowers only donations in lieu to the Irish Cancer Society Care of Farrell's Funeral Directors, Ballinalee.

Martin Balfe, Stonepark, Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2025 of Martin Balfe, Stonepark, Longford. 

Pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Winifred and by his brother Aidan. Martin will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sisters Linda Bishop (Texas, U.S.A.), Carmel Glancy (Drumsna, Co Leitrim) and Miriam McCaffrey (Perth, Australia), brother Sean (Dublin), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Thursday, June 19 from 11am until 12 noon followed by removal at 12.30pm to St Anne’s Church, Curry to arrive for Mass of the Resurrection at 1pm, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery.

Martin Fagan, Bayside, Dublin / Ballyfermot, Dublin / Drumlish, Longford

The death occurred suddenly, after a short illness on Sunday, June 15, 2025 of Martin Fagan, Bayside, Dublin / Ballyfermot, Dublin / Drumlish, Longford. Predeceased by his loving parents Rachel and Sonny.

Missed by his four sons Tom, Steve, Chris and Brian and their mum Marie. Fondly remembered by his daughters-in-law Claire, Zehra and Hannah, grandchildren Caoimhe, Daire, Conor, Imogen and Rory. Martin will be sadly missed by his loving sister Rita and his brothers Danny, Thomas and Christy, along with all the extended family, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, good neighbours and good friends in both Dublin and Longford. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. 

Martin will arrive at Dardistown Crematorium (K67 HP26) on Saturday, June 21 for 12.30pm, followed by cremation.

Maureen Eakins (née Egan), Malahide, Dublin / Sligo / Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 of Maureen Eakins (née Egan) Malahide, Dublin and formerly of Sligo and Ballinamore, Co Leitrim and late of Trinity College Dublin.   

Predeceased by her parents Tom and Rose and brother Kevin. Beloved wife of Raymond. Very sadly missed by her loving husband, children Keelin, Fionán, Muireann and Blathnaid, daughter-in-law Trish, sons-in-law Mathieu and Adrian, her adored grandchildren Beau, Aiden, Alannah, Pearl, Jacob and Robyn, sister Rosaleen, sisters-in-law Patricia and Collette, brother-in-law Michael, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. May She Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her home on Friday, June 20 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Seabury, Malahide on Saturday morning, June 21 for 10am Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Glasnevin Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Leo McNulty, Gowel, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in his 90th year in the tender care of the staff at Arus Carolan Nursing Home, Mohill surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 15, 2025 of Leo McNulty, Gowel, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.

Pre-deceased by his parents John and Mary, brothers Francis and Vincent, sister Mary. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, sister Rose Cummins (Jamestown), sister-in-law May (Drumshanbo), niecesGeraldine, Mona, Caroline, Marian, Sharon, Kathrina and Sinéad, nephews Aidan, Anthony and Vincent, extended family, wonderful neighbours and many friends. May He Rest In Peace.

Leo will repose at St Patrick’s Church, Gowel (N41 HX83) on Wednesday, June 18 from 6pm until 8pm. Mass of Christian burial on Thursday, June 19 at 12 noon, followed by burial in Kiltoghert Cemetery.

    Chris (Christy) Powell, Glasson, Westmeath / Athlone, Westmeath

    The death occurred peacefully at home on Thursday, June 12, 2025  of Chris (Christy) Powell, Glasson Village, Athlone, Co. Westmeath (Retired Company Sergeant, Military Police, Custume Barracks, Athlone).

    Predeceased by his sons James, Richard and Edward (Eddie). Sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, daughters Marie, Ellen, Anne, Patricia and Olivia, sons Christopher and Michael, brother Hugh, in-laws, his adoring grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. May He Rest In Peace. 

    Reposing at Flynn's Funeral Home, The Strand on Wednesday, June 18 from 6pm until 8pm. Requiem Mass at 11am on Thursday, June 19 in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tubberclair followed by burial afterwards in the Adjoining Cemetery. House Private Please. The family greatly appreciates your sympathy and support at this very difficult time. 

    Mary McKenna (née Reynolds), Macetown, Navan, Meath and formerly Castletown, Finea, Co Westmeath

    The recent death occurred peacefully in her 94th year at Gormanstown Wood Nursing Home on Monday, June 16, 2025 of Mary McKenna (nee Reynolds), Macetown, Navan, Meath and formerly Castletown, Finea, Co Westmeath.

    Predeceased by her husband Laurence, parents Margaret and John and brothers Packie and Vincent. Mary will be very sadly missed by her loving sons Sean and Larry, daughters Theresa and Caroline, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law Catherine Reynolds (Castletown, Finea) and Rita Reynolds (Manchester), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Mary Rest in Peace.

    Reposing at St. Joseph's Chapel of Rest, Old Johnstown, Navan (C15 C425) on Wednesday, June 18 from 3pm with Removal at 5.45pm to St. Mary’s Church, Navan, for evening Prayers. Funeral Mass on Thursday, June 19 at 12 noon (livestream) Burial afterwards in St. Finian’s Cemetery.

    Michael Patrick Nugent, Hall Green, Birmingham, and formerly, Rooskey, Roscommon

    The death occurred peacefully aged 86 years on Thursday, May 29, 2025 of Michael Patrick Nugent of Hall Green, Birmingham, and formerly of Rooskey, Co Roscommon, Ireland.

    Predeceased by his sister Mary, brother William, and son-in-law Rob. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Bridie; his daughters, Julie and Denise; his son-in-law, Damian; and his beloved grandchildren, Lily, Isabelle, Iris, and James. Also deeply missed by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and all of his extended family.

    A Requiem Mass will take place at St Ambrose Barlow Church, Hall Green, on Thursday, June 19 at 12:15pm. This will be followed by burial at Robin Hood Cemetery at 1:45pm. Reception into church will be held on Wednesday, June 18 at 7pm. It will be live streamed HERE
