The death occurred in his 94th year peacefully at Tipperary University Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 18, 2025 of John Fogarty, Clarke Villas, Clonmel, Co Tipperary and formerly Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.
Pre-deceased by his wife Nora he will be sadly missed by his loving son Tommy, daughters Eileen, Jacqui and Siobhán, grandchildren Alan, Seán, Emma, Kaylie, Megan, Dylan, Kieran, Daragh and Aoibhínn, great-grandchildren Darragh and Ciara, brothers, sisters, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Norah, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. James will be deeply missed by his siblings Christina, Mary, Pat, and Paul, brother-in-law Padraig Fannon and sister-in-law Anne Lindsay; his nieces Margaret, Tara, Aisling and Sarah, nephews Michael, Patrick, Shane and James. The Funeral Service will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Powerscourt, Enniskerry, on Thursday, September 25 at 11am. The Ceremony will be led by his friends, the Reverend Caroline Brennan, Curate and Ms Carol Barry, Parish Reader, Kilternan Parish. The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the sisters and staff of St Euphrasia's Convent, Chain road, Manchester on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 of Sr Winifred Donlon, Manchester, UK and Moydow, Co Longford.
Sr Winifred was pre-deceased by her parents Patrick and Lena Donlon and siblings; Jack, Betty, Tom, Paddy, Mel, Fr James OFM, Charlie and Teresa, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Much loved and deeply regretted by her Good Shepherd sisters, her brother Tony (Oregon USA), nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and extended family.

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected passing on Thursday, September 11, 2025 of Professor Conor Anthony Gearty Kentish Town, London; formerly of Abbeylara, County Longford.
A distinguished human rights lawyer and proud Longford man, Conor was a fantastic husband, an adored dad, a wonderful brother and son, and a warm generous friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his wife Aoife, his children Eliza, Owen, Èile and Fiadh, his mother Margot, his brother Frank, his sisters Rhona, Catherine, Margaret and Sarah, their partners and children, his in-laws, and his wide circle of friends, neighbours and colleagues. He is predeceased by his late wife Diane and his father Enda.
