The death occurred peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 of Shanty Paul, Slí Moinear, Moydow, Co. Longford. 

Shanty will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, beloved husband Sebastian, daughters Emil anna and Alana, son Evin, sister, brothers, nieces, nephews, relatives, work colleagues and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, September 28 from 4pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection at 11am on Monday, September 29 in St Mary’s Church, Moydow. Interment afterwards in Moydow Cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live please view here

John Fogarty, Clarke Villas, Clonmel, Tipperary / Edgeworthstown, Co Longford

The death occurred in his 94th year peacefully at Tipperary University Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 18, 2025 of John Fogarty, Clarke Villas, Clonmel, Co Tipperary and formerly Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.

Pre-deceased by his wife Nora he will be sadly missed by his loving son Tommy, daughters Eileen, Jacqui and Siobhán, grandchildren Alan, Seán, Emma, Kaylie, Megan, Dylan, Kieran, Daragh and Aoibhínn, great-grandchildren Darragh and Ciara, brothers, sisters, son-in-law John, daughter-in-law Norah, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. May He Rest in Peace.

Reposed at Condons Funeral Parlour, Clonmel on Sunday evening, September 21 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Monday, September 22 to St Mary’s Church, Irishtown. Funeral Mass on arrival at 12 noon. The death occurred peacefully at her home following a long illness bravely borne on Saturday, September 20, 2025 of Margaret Philbin, Cnoc Bofin, Dromod, Co Leitrim and formerly from Harold's Cross, Dublin.

Beloved wife of Robby Earle, sadly missed by her loving husband, sister Trish Dunleavy, sisters-in-law Paula and Orla, brothers in law Colm, Roy and Richie, niece Sarah, nephews Ciaran, Mark, Matthew, David and Brian, grand-niece Bowie, grand-nephew Ronan, her work colleagues in the Rotunda Maternity Hospital, all her beloved pets, her relatives, neighbours and friends Pre deceased by her parents Mike and Peggy. The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of the Plunkett Community Nursing Home, Boyle on Thursday, September 18, 2025 of Sheila (Celia) Callaghan (née Rogers), Boho, Ballintubber, Castlerea, Co Roscommon. 

Predeceased by her husband, Austin, sister Patricia McGinty, and brother Tom. Sheila will be sadly missed by her sons, John (Boho) and Austin (Claremorris), daughters Katherine (Knockcroghery), and Julie (Atlanta, USA), beloved grandchildren Clíona and Seán, daughter-in-law Peggy, Katherine's partner Edward and Julie's partner Marshall, sisters, Peg Dobey (Lisalway), Dell Verney (Florida), and Catherine Flanagan (Knockalaghta), brothers John (Emlagh) and Jim (Mohill), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many good friends. Sheila reposed at her home (eircode F45D433) on Sunday, September 21 from 4pm - 7pm. The funeral will be arriving to St Bride's Church, Ballintubber, for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon on Monday, September 22. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Castlerea (travelling via Boho).

The death occurred peacefully in the company of his loving family on Saturday, September 20, 2025 of James (JT) Lindsay, Kilternan, Co. Dublin/ Cloontuskert, Ballyleague, Co Roscommon/ Geesala, Co. Mayo. Requiescat in Pace

James will be deeply missed by his siblings Christina, Mary, Pat, and Paul, brother-in-law Padraig Fannon and sister-in-law Anne Lindsay; his nieces Margaret, Tara, Aisling and Sarah, nephews Michael, Patrick, Shane and James. James was consoled in spirit by his parents Pat and Sarah, sister Vera, brothers Seán and Gerard and sister-in-law Myra Lindsay. Suaimhneas Síoraí. James will be remembered by his extended family, neighbours, parishioners, the Reverend Rob Clements, Rector of Kilternan and colleagues in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Lovingly cared for by the exceptional, personalised and professional management and staff at Glebe House Nursing Home, Kilternan and the Palliative Care Team, Blackrock.

The Funeral Service will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, Powerscourt, Enniskerry, on Thursday, September 25 at 11am. The Ceremony will be led by his friends, the Reverend Caroline Brennan, Curate and Ms Carol Barry, Parish Reader, Kilternan Parish. Following the Funeral Service James will be laid to rest in the Churchyard, Kilternan Parish Church. Rest in Peace.

Sr Winifred Donlon, Manchester, UK & Moydow, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the sisters and staff of St Euphrasia's Convent, Chain road, Manchester on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 of Sr Winifred Donlon, Manchester, UK and Moydow, Co Longford. 

Sr Winifred was pre-deceased by her parents Patrick and Lena Donlon and siblings; Jack, Betty, Tom, Paddy, Mel, Fr James OFM, Charlie and Teresa, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Much loved and deeply regretted by her Good Shepherd sisters, her brother Tony (Oregon USA), nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and extended family.

Conor Gearty, Abbeylara, Co Longford

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the unexpected passing on Thursday, September 11, 2025 of Professor Conor Anthony Gearty Kentish Town, London; formerly of Abbeylara, County Longford. 

A distinguished human rights lawyer and proud Longford man, Conor was a fantastic husband, an adored dad, a wonderful brother and son, and a warm generous friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his wife Aoife, his children Eliza, Owen, Èile and Fiadh, his mother Margot, his brother Frank, his sisters Rhona, Catherine, Margaret and Sarah, their partners and children, his in-laws, and his wide circle of friends, neighbours and colleagues. He is predeceased by his late wife Diane and his father Enda.

The funeral will take place in London and details will be shared here shortly. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís. May he rest in power and peace.

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in Javea, Spain on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 of Eileen Sheppard (nee Morgan) Bawnboy, Cavan and Javea, Spain and formerly of Ealing, London.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Keith, her parents John and Eileen, and her brothers James, Richard, and Frank. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her brother Carl Morgan (Kells), her sister Anne McManus (Newtownforbes), the extended Sheppard family, her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbours.
