After a very successful fundraising campaign Ballymahon Defibrillator Group were able purchase three new defibrillators. This meant the Group was able to replace four defibrillators, three that they purchased themselves and one they received as a donation from the Tony Parker Memorial Fund.
This put the Group in a position to keep one of their defibrillators as a mobile unit / spare, sell two and donate one to the national school in Ballymahon.

St Matthew’s NS is a very busy school with 375 pupils and 50 staff members.
Mr Herbert Farrell principal, was delighted when he received the news last week that the school was going to receive a defibrillator and an indoor cabinet to house the defibrillator.
This week the school took delivery of their defibrillator and their cabinet. Mr Farrell was shown how to check the defibrillator and how to test the unit.

Darren Mulledy reassured Mr Farrell and staff members that he was only a phone call away, if they need anything.
He said, “Ballymahon Defibrillator Group are community based and are delighted to be in a position to help a local school:
“I’d encourage parents to help out with fundraising to help with the upkeep of their defibrillator in their school.”
