Many were involved in the organisation of the event which was a great success

Longford's Killashee GAA fun run spreads appreciation for event's smooth outcome

Killashee GAA 5k and 10k Family Fun Run took place on Sunday, September 28.

Well done to everyone involved in our first staging of this race.

Firstly we would like to thank the runners, walkers and families who came out in large numbers. Thanks to our stewards for car parking, marshalling, start/finish and turn arounds, those who put up signs in advance, bike leads, David McGlynn and John Lyons.

All who prepared and served food and refreshments and to Niamh McPartland for sponsoring and manning the water station in Clondra with the help of Fla. Thanks to An Gardai for road safety and support, Civil Defence, First Aid support, Longford County Council, Longford Leader promotion and coverage, to Ciara Galvin, our photographer on the day, to Gerry Ellis for his kind sponsorship of fruit and individuals who gave refreshments and contributed in any way, our committee and team, management, players and families, JustRun Events for timing, Donal Mulligan for AAI course measurement, to the local community for cooperation and road safety.
