"Expect short delays" says Longford County Council of roadworks starting tomorrow

Drivers on the Old N5 Ballyminion to be affected

Major roadworks return next week and will cause traffic delays in one of Tipp's biggest towns

Longford County Council has advised motorists to "expect short traffic delays" on the Old N5 Ballyminion over the next 8 days.

The council's cautionary message comes as resurfacing works on the road commence tomorrow, Thursday October 9.

The works, which will be taking place from 8am until 6pm daily, are expected to finish on Friday October 17.

The county council said the road will remain open but that short traffic delays should be expected throughout.

A stop/go system, or temporary traffic lights, may also be used while the works are being carried out.
