The Granard Area Action Plan Group has helped the communities of Granard, Abbeylara & Mullinalaghta grow with the Community Employment (CE) initiatives since 1996. Supporting individuals who have been unemployed for 12 months or more, by offering part-time roles in local community projects, it is a great way to build confidence, learn new skills and ease back into the world of work.

On November 7, a table quiz will be held in Fay’s Pub down Main Street, Granard (time yet to be confirmed). It costs €40 for a table of four, and promises to be a great time. Keep an eye on the group's Facebook page for updates.
They hope that local businesses may want to get involved and show support.

The group has relocated to Main Street, Granard, beside the Lus na Greine building. To help with funding and make a difference, the group also runs a Bonus Ball, which costs €2 to enter and the possibility of winning €50. All the money raised goes back into supporting their work and helping people involved in the programme.
