After a hugely successful opening weekend on their home turf of Edgeworthstown, popular drama group Mostrim Players have taken their must-see production 'Willow' on the road as they make their way around the DLI (Drama League of Ireland) circuit to showcase their talents and hopefully win some deserved awards.
'Willow', which is set in a small seaside town in the west of Ireland, is a tale of love, loss, and longing, with the entire play taking place in one day set in 2019.
Says Director Samantha Lynch, "I read this play over the summer and instantly knew I wanted to bring it to the stage. I brought it to our committee as an option for the DLI One Act Drama Festival and they agreed, it was the one. I knew I had the right actors to bring these characters to life."
Mostrim says Willow explores themes of love, pride, health, resilience and the power of family.
Willow is a powerful piece of writing from Catherine McKiernan and was first runner up in the 2022 DLI/ADCI Playwriting competition.
