This year there was a Pumpkin Carving competition with 24 entries
There was another great evening of Halloween fun and frolics for both young and the not so young in the Crossroads Inn, Lisryan on Monday, October 27.
The annual event was organised by the volunteers on the Lisryan Tidy Village Committee and it must be acknowledged that these events don’t happen without the commitment and hard work of all the committee.

This year there was a Pumpkin Carving competition which showcased the absolute brilliant talent and creativity that exists in the village and surrounding community. 24 pumpkins were registered covering 3 categories to be judged. Linda Heffernan kindly judged for and that was not an easy task given the creations turned in.
Hallie Keogh picked up the prize for the funniest craving, Jake Lewis scooped the most Creative entry and Chloe Creegan received the prize for the Scariest pumpkin. But all entries were winners and it was great to see such interest in the event.
Here’s to next year already. Cannot let this article pass without mentioning the terrific and absolute treasure, Faustina who bakes for all Lisryan Tidy Village events and never fails to amaze with the treats she provides.
And just as the committee cleared the decks from that event, they are working tirelessly behind the scenes to organise the Annual Santa Dash which is taking place on Sunday, December 7 from 12 noon.
Registration for a visit to Santa on the day will be required. Registration details will be published on the Lisryan Tidy Village social media platforms. Book early to avoid disappointment. It’s a free event with a raffle for some great prizes on the day.
The Lisyran Christmas Markets will be located in the beer garden of the Crossroads Inn on the day, and bookings are being taken from anyone who wishes to host a stall on the day with a €10 fee for a space (payable on the day). This year there is a surprise in store for the kids so all are looking forward to that, and there will also be a photo shoot for the Christmas Family photos, so come prepared in the matching jumpers etc.

A huge thanks to the Lisryan Tidy Village committee for organising these events and to Pauline and Gerry for allowing the use of their facilities. Lisryan is a very small village but the size of the communities’ heart is unquantifiable.
As a committee, Lisryan Tidy Village are very proud to have gained points again this year in the TidyTowns competition and each year they strive to do more. This cannot be done without your help and continued support, so thank you all for that and the committee look forward to another very rewarding year in 2026. Again a special word of thanks to you all for your continued support.
