Leading up to Voices of Longford's maiden show "Hey!! Old Friends" in February of 2026 at Backstage Theatre, the group wants to give a dedication to Fintan Farrelly (the musical director) and Emer McGowan, the new choral mistress.

"As we move closer to our upcoming rehearsals, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fintan Farrelly for all his incredible work with our Voices of Longford workshops," says Brian Murray.

"Fintan’s dedication, passion, and musical expertise continue to inspire everyone involved. His long-standing commitment to St. Mel’s Musical Society is second to none — from his many past productions to the well-acclaimed “Me and My Girl” earlier this year, and now as he begins preparations for the Society’s 2026 production of “The Wizard of Oz”, his contribution to Longford’s musical community remains truly exceptional.

"We’re also absolutely delighted to welcome our new Choral Mistress, Emer McGowan, who joins us on this exciting new chapter. Emer, just like Fintan, brings immense talent, enthusiasm, and musical insight — we’re certain she’ll be a fantastic asset to our group as we continue our journey together.
