Longford car crash - which saw 4 people hospitalised - involved a Garda patrol car

A Garda patrol car was one of two cars involved in a car crash on Saturday evening

A Garda patrol car has been confirmed as one of two cars that were involved in a crash just outside Granard on Saturday evening. 

The incident, which occurred on the N55 at Cartron, Granard, shortly after 8pm, was attended to by Longford Gardaí and emergency services. The crash resulted in four people being hospitalised.  

Three people - one male in his 40’s and a male and female in their 60’s - were brought by ambulance to Mullingar General Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. 

A male in his 40’s was brought by ambulance to Cavan General Hospital, also for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardaí say investigations into the collision are ongoing.
