Congratulations: Longford's Siobhàn Cronogue celebrates significant milestone

County Longford Public Participation Network (PPN) Coordinator Siobhàn Cronogue conferred with Bachelor of Arts in Local Government

Congratulations to Siobhàn Cronogue, who proudly received her Bachelor of Arts in Local Government through the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), accredited by the National University of Ireland, on Friday, December 5.

In a significant milestone, Siobhàn was one of just eight in the country that received the BA in Local Government. This achievement reflects years of commitment, study, and professional dedication.

Siobhàn’s degree journey brought her through a rich and demanding set of subjects. Her final modules—Public Policy Making, Economics, Strategic Management, and Financial Management—highlight the depth of her understanding of modern public administration.

Over the course of her studies, she also explored essential areas such as Administrative Law and Comparative Local Government, giving her a strong grounding in both the legal and structural dimensions of public service.

Professionally, Siobhàn brings this knowledge directly into practice through her work with Longford County Council, where she manages the County Longford Public Participation Network (PPN). Her academic achievements further enhance her ability to support community engagement, strengthen local democracy, and ensure inclusive participation across the county.
