A speed survey is to be sought for Ballymakeegan junction following concerns over the large volume of speeding traffic.
Councillor Seamus Butler broached the issue of traffic at the junction in Ballmakeegan at a recent meeting of Longford County Council.
The Fianna Fáil representative stated, “part of the problem is the amount of speeding traffic in that straight stretch - from the local reservoir, over.”
Senior Executive Engineer, Peter Brady replied that the council was aware of the issue and that he would request a speed survey ahead of looking at potential solutions.
