The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore on Sunday, December 28, 2025 of Mary Whelan MPSI (nee Kelly) Dublin Road and Main Street, Longford town and formerly of Bridge Street, Westport, Co Mayo.
Predeceased by her husband Denny, her brother Hugh and by her parents P.F. and Nan Kelly. Deeply regretted by her loving sister Kitty McDonnell, (Cavan) and her niece Carmel Kelly (Galway), nephews Hugo Kelly and his partner Niamh (Galway), Aidan Kelly and his wife Helen and grandnieces Ruth & Beth (Castlebar). Sadly missed by the Whelan, Kelly and Duffy extended families and her many close friends and neighbours. May she rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Thursday, January 1 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, January 2 in St Mel’s Cathedral, Longford at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE.
