RIP: Francis 'Franco' Kelly of Tromra Road, Granard
A father of five who was tragically killed in a collision in Edgeworthstown on Saturday evening will be laid to rest this Thursday, January 8.
Granard man, Francis ‘Franco’ Kelly, aged 36, died following a road traffic accident involving two cars and a van. The crash occurred just after the Edgeworthstown roundabout on the Longford town side of the N4.
According to his funeral notice, which was published today, Mr Kelly from Tromra Road in Granard, will be reposing at 14 Tromra Road, Granard (N39 V298) on Wednesday, January 7 from 2pm to 4pm, followed by removal to St Mary's Church in Granard, arriving at 6pm.
His funeral mass will take place on Thursday, January 8, at 12 noon, with burial afterwards in Granardkille Cemetery.

The death notice reads, "Predeceased by his sister Rosaleen and brother Patrick (Pa), Francis will be sadly missed by his loving parents Bernie and Francie, brother Thomas, sister Catriona, partner Stephanie, daughters Paige, Talita and Rosaleen, sons Francie Jr and Tommy Lee, grandfather Tom, uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends."
Condolences began appearing within minutes of the funeral notice being published.
One friend wrote. "Franko. Great conversation was had many a time between us, rest your head on soft angels wings my friend."
Another posted, "Heartfelt condolences to the Kelly family, extended family, and friends on the very sad passing of Francis. Thoughts and prayers are with you all at this heart breaking time. May the choir of angels greet him at the gates of heaven. May he rest peacefully, amen"
