Asked about her reaction to this achievement, Shaunagh told the 'Longford Leader' the following:
"Brown Bread is deeply rooted in Longford, with the county itself functioning almost as a character. To see a global platform like Disney+ recognise this story as something that can resonate far beyond home, is truly rewarding.”
Following a screening of ‘Brown Bread’ before an appreciative local audience at Backstage Theatre, double Emmy-nominated documentarian, Shaunagh enthused:
“It was incredibly special to share the film with friends, family, and especially with my godmother’s children and husband — the people who shaped this story in more ways than they know. I’m extremely grateful to all the Backstage crew for hosting us.”

Announcing the news of the Disney+ acquisition via her LinkedIn on January 3, Shaunagh declared, “I wanted to tell a story rooted in Irish life but expansive enough to travel. To see that belief reflected in a global acquisition like this is incredibly affirming, and a reminder that small, specific stories can resonate far beyond where they begin (G'wan Longford!).”
She added, “So grateful to my partner in crime, Julia Ryan, my distributor Network Ireland, funders Creative Ireland (Longford), Sam and Amelia Dennigan, Anne Heraty and the entire cast and crew for helping me bring this story to life."
