Historic Structures Fund: up to €200K available for successful Longford applicants

Next Friday, January 16, marks the closing date for grant applications for the Historic Structures Fund 2026.

The fund, which supports the maintenance and repair of historic structures in all local authority administrative areas, will see grants from €50,000 up to €200,000 being given to successful applicants. 

The Historic Structures Fund helps custodians and owners of historic structures/properties safeguard them.

This vital investment in our rich built heritage ensures these structures are there for the future benefit of communities and the general public alike.

In order to qualify for the scheme, the structure/property in question must be included, or eligible for inclusion, on the Record of Protected Structures that are maintained by the relevant local authority, in this case Longford County Council.  

You can check if your building is already on the Longford County Council Record of Protected Structures through The Longford County Development Plan here.  

Priority will be given to works to conserve and consolidate the external aspects of the historic structure such as the roof, brick work, stone work, and/or window repairs.

Among other points of criteria, the project in question should also demonstrate a clear benefit to the community or the general public.
