Maura Higgins in the latest promo for The Traitors US
The first episode of the Traitors US aired last night and it was Ballymahon's Maura Higgins that had audiences talking despite being an outsider to win at odds of 1000/1 (according to SporstsGeek.)
It was one of Maura's scenes with another contestant, actor Michael Rapaport, that stood out to viewers not for the frostiness between the two but for when her subtitles presented her Longford accent a little too literally.

During an exchange with Michael, she said, "Please stop talking. I "tink" I've gone deaf" with the word 'tink' in quotation marks.
Initially viewers assumed that Maura's choice of outfit in the promo video, a leather jumpsuit with a cape, was potentially a hint at a traitor role, however it was last night revealed she was in fact a faithful.
The Longford lady made no secret of her intention to make her time on the show as entertaining as possible for viewers, telling the camera during the promo, "God help them" as she referenced those who might "come for" her at the roundtable.
