Longford County Council say they remain committed to providing housing
Longford County Council has announced its plan to continue delivering new social homes as well as maintaining existing social homes in Longford this coming year.
The local authority is also working closely with the Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs) and the private sector to accelerate delivery and to continue to bring vacant properties back into use.
Addressing the council’s ongoing commitment to tackling local housing needs, Chief Executive Paddy Mahon said housing remains the priority for the council and with a “continued focus on developing, improving, and acquiring quality and sustainable homes and building communities that meet the needs of people in Longford.”

Director of Services for Housing, Samantha Healy said the council understands the significant housing pressures being faced by people in Longford and would focus on delivering homes as well as providing the supports people need.
She said, "Tackling housing supply requires careful planning and collaboration and we are committed to building upon what is being achieved and significantly increasing the housing supply in County Longford."
"We are committed to meeting housing needs through sustained delivery and collaboration, while creating engaged, vibrant communities where people can thrive and feel connected.”
