To launch their new affordable housing scheme, To launch their new affordable housing scheme, Longford County Council this week opened up their showhouse for viewing.  this week opened up their showhouse for viewing. 

There will be 3 public information evenings taking place next week in Longford County Council offices (Tuesday at 6pm) Ballymahon Library (Wednesday March 11 at 6pm), and in Granard Library (Thursday Marc 12 at 6pm)

The information evenings are designed to assist interested parties so they are equipped with all the relevant information in time for when the application portal officially opens on March 30 at 10am. 

The houses available under the scheme, which are currently under construction, are:  

5 two‑bed terraced homes 

8 three‑bed terraced homes

12 three‑bed semi‑detached homes

Director of Services, Director of Services, Samantha Healy, who was in attendance on the day explained the application process and said applicants will be supported by a dedicated team in the council.

"In addition to the up to €95,000 equity that is available to purchase these homes, applicants can also avail of the first home scheme which also gives them access of up to €30,000 reduction on the cost of their home.”
