Two people hospitalised following Burnfoot crash
A man in his 30s is being treated for serious injuries in hospital after a single vehicle crash in Ballymahon in the early hours of Sunday morning -and Gardaí have made a public appeal for witnesses to contact them.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted and rushed to the area on the R392, near Ballymahon Garda Station, within minutes where they treated the man for a short time.
The seriously injured driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was then brought by ambulance o the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore.
Gardaí have made a public appeal for information as they investigate the single vehicle collision.
The road where the crash occurred was closed for several hours while the injured man was being treated by an ambulance crew and to enable specialist Garda officers to carry out a technical examination of the crash site.

A Garda spokesman said, “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the R392 in Ballymahon, Co. Longford shortly after midnight this morning, Sunday, March 29.
“A man (30s), the sole occupant of the car, was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore for treatment of injuries believed to be serious. No other injuries were reported.
“Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
“Any motorists who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and who were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Longford Garda Station on (043) 3350570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
