The woman was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased yesterday evening.

3 members of Gardaí arriving at Dealz on Market Square in Longford Town just before 3pm today
Longford Gardaí were called to the scene of an assault at Dealz in Market Square, Longford town, shortly before 3pm today, Wednesday, April 1.
The incident, which was witnessed by several people, occurred after a member of staff confronted a youth about his behaviour inside the premises.
The male approached the staff member and proceeded to verbally abuse her as she phoned the Gardaí.
Despite being informed by the staff member that her body-camera had been recording his actions inside the shop - and was continuing to record his behaviour toward her - the male was witnessed striking the woman with an item, believed to be the body camera in question, before immediately leaving the premises.
Longford Gardaí arrived swiftly at the branch on Market Square where they spoke with members of staff.
