The AGM of Longford ICMSA is set for next Wednesday, (November 23) at 8.30pm in the Longford Arms Hotel.
This meeting of the local branch of the state’s specialist dairy farmer organisation will be addressed by Denis Drennan, the Deputy President.
The agenda includes dairy and beef outlook and the likely effect of the last CAP on both the local and national scenes. Mr Drennan also chairs ICMSA Farm & Rural Affairs Committee that is charge with coordinating the organisation’s response to the issues and data around climate change and environmental emissions, and he is widely acknowledged as one of the state’s leading exponents of the farmer position in these questions.
The meeting will also elect Longford ICMSA’s officers for the coming year as well as the county’s member of the National Council.
The meeting will be chaired by Gregory Yorke, Cartonwar, while Paddy O’Farrell of Mostrim will act as secretary to the meeting.
