There were unforgettable scenes on the streets of Longford town last Saturday evening as the history making Longford Slashers ladies football team were welcomed home to tumultuous acclaim from hordes of supporters following their hugely impressive currentaccount.ie LGFA All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship Final victory over Mullinahone of Tipperary.
Longford Leader photographer Syl Healy has covered Longford Slashers progress and development as a team over the years and he was at Croke Park to capture these super images of a historic Longford Slashers triumph and he was also in Longford town for a reception, led by Longford Pipe Band and with Benny O'Brien as MC, that will live long in the memory.
